“Expeditionary Learning” Builds Problem-Solving Skills for Real Life

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/extra/daily_videos/expeditionary-learning/

Notice the quote "In an effort to engage students and prepare them for the rapidly changing world that meets them on the other side of graduation, some schools are turning to “expeditionary learning” to teach students to think in a focused, project-based environment.

This approach to learning means that students don’t switch topics when they switch classes; instead, all departments create their curriculum around a central theme."

This is very similar to the structure of our semesters and the way our staff works together to plan the delivery of information that is focused around a "theme" a.k.a. "expedition".

Thanks for being a part of Expeditionary Learning right here in Prescott, Arizona.  Please feel free to share this information and find it on the school FaceBook page also!
